Dr. Carmen Burke is the owner and founder of Family Holistic Dentistry. Her journey in dentistry began in her home country, Colombia, where she earned her dental degree and practiced for a decade. In 2008, she embarked on a new chapter, moving to the United States after marrying her husband, Sean. Carmen took a four-year hiatus from her career to start a family and raise her two children, Kevin and Alicia. Her passion for dentistry never waned, and she returned to school, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Loma Linda University in California. During this time, a conversation about biological dentistry piqued her interest. She furthered her knowledge by taking integrative biological dentistry classes from Dr. Phil Mollica and Dr. Judson Wall and attending an IAOMT seminar in Las Vegas. This experience solidified her decision to pursue a holistic approach to dentistry. The family relocated to Colorado in 2016, and in 2017, she founded what is now Family Holistic Dentistry. Dr. Burke handles all of the practice's surgeries. Many people come to see her for a nonmetal solution for missing teeth. In our practice, she places CeraRoot ceramic implants at the time of extraction if the conditions are adequate. She is committed to thoroughly cleaning out any infection and removing the periodontal ligament, regardless of how long the process may take. She uses a holistic approach to achieve optimal results, including piezosurgery, ozone, laser, and PRF. If a bone graft is necessary, she chooses between beta-tricalcium phosphate and autogenous grafts from the same patient's donor site. Our practice does not use cadaver bone grafts from human or animal sources. Carmen is a certified CeraRoot instructor. She teaches one-piece implant placement and her holistic protocol with Dr. Xavi Olivia, the CEO of CeraRoot, to other dentists four times a year in our Boulder office. Dr. Burke is a dentist deeply committed to her patients' oral health. She provides excellent care in the clinic and enjoys educating her patients about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. Dr. Burke is dedicated to staying up-to-date with traditional and holistic dentistry's latest techniques and materials so that her patients receive the best and safest treatments. Dr. Burke is an accredited member of the IAOMT, where she is currently on the perio committee. She is also a member of IABDM. She lives in Boulder with her husband, their two children, and two dogs.
